This was a calm day, warm with big clouds.

This was a calm day, warm with big clouds. The beach is long and flat now although the high wood has not been exposed yet. The wrack is thick with seaweed in some areas. There were two groups riding horses and a few other people walking, none with dogs. However, there were some dog tracks coming over the dunes. The restriction on traveling above the high water line to protect snowy plover nesting is over as of the 15th. Only one flock of shorebirds and a few gulls were seen. Two carcasses were found, one a Rhinoseros Auklet, the other a Common Murre. There was no human debris.

A nice bright day with a large group of birders from 30 cars looking for Snowy Plovers when I started but only 13 people walking or sitting on the beach on my way back.
