A nice warm partly cloudy day with a large group enjoying the picnic area by the parking lot. Only 7 people were on the beach, walking or biking. The sand is built up to the dunes covering the wood, with a very long beach. The tides have been high, leaving thin wrack lines of that light brown algae (?) all down the beach. Four bird carcasses were found: Pelagic Cormorant, common Murre, Pacific Loon, and some kind of raptor, probably a hawk. Otherwise there were no plovers or shorebird around, and only a few gull. One vulture was waiting for a hurt gull to die. The restrictions for the Snowy Plover are over as of September 15th. No debris and no problems noted

A nice bright day with a large group of birders from 30 cars looking for Snowy Plovers when I started but only 13 people walking or sitting on the beach on my way back.
