1967
Oregon Legislature passed the Beach Bill
Oregon Legislature passed the Beach Bill, reserving all of Oregon's shoreline up to the vegetation line as public area
1971
Oregon Shores Conservation Coalition founded
Oregon Shores Conservation Coalition was founded, originally as a watchdog group for Oregon's public beaches. Oregon Shores' founders include those who had led the campaign to pass the Beach Bill as Citizens to Save Oregon Beaches.
1993
CoastWatch volunteer program founded
CoastWatch volunteer program founded, which became the first program in the nation through which the citizens of a state have adopted their entire shoreline
2009-2012
Oregon Shores and allied partners work together to create marine reserves
Oregon Shores worked with allied partners to support the creation of Oregon's five marine reserves
2021
Defeated proposed Jordan Cove LNG project
Oregon Shores and allied partners battled to successfully defeat the proposed Jordan Cove LNG project
