It was a beautiful day with a slight Northeast wind, a few gulls circling and one small group of shorebirds feeding.

It was a beautiful day with a slight Northeast wind, a few gulls circling and one small group of shorebirds feeding. The sand has been pulled out some, with more small wood exposed. But there is still a long, gentle slope to the ocean. There was no wrack now but on the last tide masses of tiny spicules had been deposited in continuous lines up to a couple inches wide. There were 4 dead birds seen, two intact Common Murres, wings from another Murre and wings from a Pigeon Guillemot. Nine people were walking the beach, with 8 cars in the parking lot.

A nice bright day with a large group of birders from 30 cars looking for Snowy Plovers when I started but only 13 people walking or sitting on the beach on my way back.
