Nothing unusual on the beach except the large number of plastic and glass bottles, some well-covered with barnacles.

Nothing unusual on the beach except the large number of plastic and glass bottles, some well-covered with barnacles. Seaweed had been deposited in drifts on a previous tide. Large logs were more evident. There were a few people walking, three horses with riders and only one dog. A group of five Whimbrels was feeding along the beach. Only two dead birds were observed, both well scavenged which made identification difficult. One may have been a Northern Pintail duck, the other a Cassin's Auklet.
