A few shells, animal casings, small rocks and Lasthenia maritima in driftline. Beach flat with a slope of 3-5 degrees with one riptide embayment. Two Snowy Plovers on dry sand. Black-bellied Plovers and Dunlins on beach. Brant's Gees flying offshore and on beach south of New River. One dead Western Gull. Two Harbor Seals on north shore of New River. 1 dead Oregon Newt. Wind speed of 20.8 mph. Air and ocean tempertuare of 50 and 48 degrees F, respectively. Low human impact (0).

Notable Wildlife
Two Snowy Plovers on dry sand. Whimbrels on beach. Brants Geese flying offshore and on shore south of New River. One dead Oregon Newt. Two Harbor Seals on north bank of New River.

Report from Diane and Dave BilderbackHere on the south coast, we have been having a wash up of a pelagic purple tunicate, Dolioletta gegenbauri, that at times causes a deep purple wash on the beach and also has colored small sand pools.
