Report Details
A nearly nonexistent driftline with just a few small rocks. Beach was flat with large amounts of decaying Bull Kelp sloping at 8 degrees to the ocean. The outlet of New River continues to move north leaving only 0.27 of a mile of Mile 96 accessible from the north. Four Harbor Seals in New River. One dead Common Murre entangled in a fishing lure. Sunny day with wind speed of 7.2 mph from the NW. Air and ocean temperatures of 37 and 46 degrees F., respectively.

Two Harbor Seals in the mouth of New River and two Harbor Seals in the river.

Report from Diane and Dave BilderbackHere on the south coast, we have been having a wash up of a pelagic purple tunicate, Dolioletta gegenbauri, that at times causes a deep purple wash on the beach and also has colored small sand pools.
