Clumps of European Dunegrass, small rocks, one tire and some ocean-based debris in the driftline. One Harbor Seal swimming in ocean. Two Snowy Plover on beach. A flock of Sanderlings foraging on wet sand. Floating dock has moved inland. Large amounts of drift logs, European Dunegrass and ocean-based debris at the southern end of beach. New River moving north and eroding the dune leaving a high sand cliff of about 15 ft. Beach flat with a slope of 4 degrees. Air and Ocean temperature of 49 and 53 degrees, respectively. Low human impact(1) with two dogs.

Report from Diane and Dave BilderbackHere on the south coast, we have been having a wash up of a pelagic purple tunicate, Dolioletta gegenbauri, that at times causes a deep purple wash on the beach and also has colored small sand pools.
