There were more and a greater variety of shorebirds than usual.

There were more and a greater variety of shorebirds than usual. I was surprised to see the 2 Ruddy Turnstones, but had good long looks of them at close distance. Shorebird migration seems to be underway.
Conditions
Temperature: 48 F. Cloud Cover: Foggy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: SE. Tide Level: 3.9 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 17. Number of dogs: 2. Walking or running: 15. Sitting: 2. People were out and about in spite of the fog.
Notable Wildlife
Many more and greater variety of shorebirds than usual. On the beach sand: 2 Ruddy Turnstones (which were turning bits of algae on the sand beach instead of stones), 4 Semipalmated Plovers, 8 Sanderlings, and 19 Western Sandpipers. Along the bay side of the North Jetty: 1 Wandering Tattler. In the Channel between the jetties were 5 phalarope sp.
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 1. 1 Common Murre.

One of the dead birds was a gull, am unsure what the other two were.
