Mile 215 - Yaquina Bay SP, North Jetty Yaquina River - November 9, 2023

Report Details

One of the dead birds was a gull, am unsure what the other two were. There was oily water just at the Shilo Inn beach access stairs. I am curious if it is always there, so will check next time I walk my mile. A dead sea lion was observed, will report it to the Marine Mammal Stranding Network.

Number of people: 15. Number of dogs: 4. Walking or running: 15. Tan Chevy truck ... looked like possible official but no markings of any kind

Notable Wildlife

Blue heron in surf did not look right. Just wading. Looked "lost." Spoke to a beach walker who thought it looked distressed.
