Report Details

Nothing of special note. People and dog presence may be reason why I saw only one bird (a gull) on the beach. There was a very strong wind from the east, especially near the Yaquina Bay North Jetty where there was trees or upland to block the wind. Near the North Jetty the wind was blowing towards the ocean and covering materials that could have beached earlier.

Conditions

Temperature: 52 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Strong. Wind Direction: E. Tide Level: 3.7 feet.

Activities

Number of people: 17. Number of dogs: 3. Walking or running: 17.

Other Activities: There were many people and dogs walking near the shoreline, and that could explain why I saw so few birds today..

Beached Birds

Total dead birds: 1. 1 Northern Fulmar
