There was a brief "window" of partial sunshine with showers of hail and light rain. Dock Beach was nearly deserted; one man and his enthusiastic dog were walking and exploring driftwood piles.On the dock the boats are on their trailers and crab pots are stacked, awaiting the official start of the commercial crab season.

Beached Birds

Total dead birds: 5. 4 were Western Grebes in various stages of decomposition; 5th might have been the same. It had no feet or head and the body was mostly eaten.
