lovely morning on the beach with people enjoying themselves. Very low tide allowing access to normally water-surrounded cliff-side rocks. More cars and people were arriving for the afternoon when I left. A training tepee had been set up in the McPhillips Park access parking lot, by the time I got back there, where some folks were being trained for hang gliding.

Concerns

Apparent violations: 3 cars parked beyond no parking sign but the beach was so wide at a very low tide that they were not interfering with the paraglider on the dune.

Notable Wildlife

pair of Black Oystercatchers preening and foraging on offshore rock. they nest on Chief Kiawanda Rock but apparently are not nesting this year

Driftline Content

ocean seems to have washed everything out to sea. Just a little plastic picnic trash left which I hauled out.

Natural Changes

the drainages washing off the hillside onto the beach seem to have dug deeper channels
