One pickup stuck in sand being towed out by commercial towing company when I arrived. Lots of people enjoying the low tide, beautiful weather, fairly calm sea. Gorgeous kites in the air. Brown pelicans observed.

Temperature: 60 F. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: SW. Tide Level: 1.8 feet.

Human Activities

Number of people: 12. Number of dogs: 4. Walking or running: 4. Playing in surf: 2. Sitting: 2. Fishing: 1. Other Activities: kite flying, climbing dune. Everyone well spread out because of very low tide one pickup was being towed out of sand near water's edge by commercial towing truck

Apparent violations: As usual, a couple vehicles were beyond the sign that says no vehicles beyond this point.

Beached Birds

Total dead birds: 2. I did not attempt to identify. One probably a juvenile alcid. Both in wrack line with lots of kelp pieces

Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt).

Man-made Modifications

Dune modification/removal. The illegal trail down to the beach from a trail above is completely eroded now. Photo.
