Mile 262 Report
Cape Kiwanda State Park
May 3, 2023
Nice day with few people and vehicles.
Report Details
Nice day with few people and vehicles. The winter tides had made the most changes since last time I walked here. The ocean is eating away at the cliffs. Calm, dry day with no wind and few people. Beach was pretty clean and mostly free of man-made debris. A park ranger drove past, checking the beach. Nice to see! Only "violation" noted was in the parking access area at McPhillip's park where illegal trails have been made in two places. Signs are now posted asking people not to make/use unofficial trails and why (photo)

I have added a photo of the numbered sign at the access point that is used to help emergency personnel locate people who need help. It's a good number to note when you head off from McPhillip's Park.
