Report Details

Large amounts of algae noted.

Conditions

Temperature: 60 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light.

Concerns

Apparent violations: There is a LOT of algae bubbling in each of the springs coming down off the cliffs above. It's most heavy on the northern end where the footpath and vehicular access are. If you walk south along the cliff edge, you can see bubbles and streams of it in all different colors (bright green, rust red, brown, yellow) in the streams. I didn't have my camera but will take photos. It concerns me because this beach is heavily occupied by families and their animals, and the RV park across the street is packed full until after Labor Day. They are also driving their vehicles through pools of algae and spreading it along the beach..
