Balmy 40 degree quiet day after a week of freezing rain and significant ice with temps in the low 30's. Still ice coating on the grasses and cliffs. Recent King and high tides have moved some logs and sand around and uncovered rocks not normally visible. Tent camping at NW 15th Street access.

Total dead birds: 10. Cassin’s auklets, some fairly fresh but most from previous week. There were as many as 20-30 in a 50 yard stretch last week.

It has been a very hard year for Lion's Mane jellies with large numbers of whole or almost whole jellies and pieces, large and small at the tide line. Enjoyed meeting a praying mantis and, hopefully assisting in its recovery from the tide.
