Bright sunny day after a few of heavy rain and winds. Midweek quiet. Unusual number of dead fish offering gulls and crows snacking opportunities but not a feeding frenzy. Large amount of bull kelp.

Number of people: 51. Number of dogs: 13. Walking or running: 49. Playing in surf: 2. NW 15th Street, Lincoln City, vehicle access is open again and, as always, people drive outside the allowed areas doing "donuts" and other deep rut driving. See photo.

Dead Fish or Invertebrates
Unusual concentration. Unusual number of fairly fresh dead fish providing snacking for gulls and crows. At least 4-5, not all photographed. See photos.
Driftline Content
Seaweeds and seagrass. This last week, there has been a significant concentration of kelp: singles and small and very large tangles.

It has been a very hard year for Lion's Mane jellies with large numbers of whole or almost whole jellies and pieces, large and small at the tide line. Enjoyed meeting a praying mantis and, hopefully assisting in its recovery from the tide.
