Report Details

Very little human activity was observed and only at the Lookout, attributable to the inclement weather. No wildlife of note was observed, except for one eagle. No physical changes were observed. Note that most of this mile can only be observed from a distance, meaning that very small-scale disturbances may not be apparent. Trash cleanup needed for trash dump on Otter Crest Loop Road, about three-eights mile north of Lookout on ocean side of road.

Conditions

Temperature: 43 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: E. Tide Level: 4.0 feet.

Human Activities

Trash was dumped on the outboard side of old 101 (Otter Crest Loop Road) about 3/8 mile north of the Lookout. This will require a cleanup effort of up to one man-hour. It is unsightly and is where tourists park to observe the scenery. Two vehicles were parked at the Lookout and people were observing the ocean from the observation points there. This is not an access site.

It was a very pleasant sunny day and the ocean was calm, so visibility at and slightly below the surface of the ocean was excellent.

It was a nice day to be observing the coast, what with the moderate temperature, light wind, and clouds that covered the sky thinly.
