On a nice, fairly calm and partly cloudy day on the central Oregon coast, there were only a few people driving along Otter Crest Loop and even fewer stopping to enjoy the view from the the Lookout at Otter Crest State Scenic Wayside.

On a nice, fairly calm and partly cloudy day on the central Oregon coast, there were only a few people driving along Otter Crest Loop and even fewer stopping to enjoy the view from the the Lookout at Otter Crest State Scenic Wayside. No human activity was observed at or near the shoreline as it is virtually inaccessible. The only changes noted along the shoreline were two small rock slides and a fallen spruce tree and some wave-eroded logs at the extreme south end of the mile, as seen in attached photo.

Temperature: 53 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 5.8 feet.

Other Activities: Note that activity at or near the shoreline is lacking as shoreline on this mile is essentially inaccessible.. No activities observed along shoreline, but some people driving on Otter Crest Loop and a few getting out of vehicles to see the view from the Otter Crest State Wayside..

Natural Changes
Landslides/major boulder falls, Newly exposed roots/trees falling. Notes on above: Two small rockslides observed on extreme south end of mile 226 along with what appears to be a fresh downed small to medium-sized spruce tree along with several wave-eroded logs. See attached photo which provides the best access possible to this location.

On a cool, partly cloudy, and somewhat windy afternoon, no people were directly observed along the shoreline, though I did see a couple vehicles parked on Otter Crest Loop above where people may have access to areas at the top of the bluff.

Mile 226 continues to see very little human activity due to the difficulty of access because of tall basalt cliffs rising directly out of the ocean with few small pocket beaches.
