Very windy, cloudy day.
Report Details
Very windy, cloudy day. Lots of crab molt throughout the mile. Wind-made small dunes going from south to north especially in the area south of Henderson Creek which made walking even harder. Haven't seen such dunes before. Beach relatively clean -- SOLVE there recently? Rocks in a couple areas might be erosion-prevention? 2 dead birds covered up by sand.

Temperature: 57 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Strong. Wind Direction: S. Tide Level: 6.5 feet.

Number of people: 12. Number of dogs: 1. Walking or running: 12. Not many walkers, possibly because of weather/strong wind from south/southwest.

Total dead birds: 2. Covered up partially with sand. Took photos. One looked like a gull.

Lots of crab molts scattered throughout the mile.
Driftline Content
Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces. Driftline pretty clean
New Development
Steps down bluff. Previous report showed public hearing sign. Stairway still there.
Man-made Modifications
New riprap or shoreline protection structures. Wondered if rock piles south of Henderson Creek were man-made. See photo.
Natural Changes
Lots of wind-made dunes from south to north on beach. Haven't seen them before.

This time I concentrated on the area south of Henderson Creek where there is more activity. Photo submitted, & will be the last one. Beach was quite clean and probably because of the beach clean-up activities the previous Saturday.

A pleasant day on the beach at very low tide which exposed one large tidal pool which hadn't seen before.
