Mile 213 Report
Henderson Creek, South Beach SP south
February 17, 2020
Walked the beach at low tide.
Report Details
Walked the beach at low tide. Beach appears very smooth, no potholes or undulations that I've observed last year. Evidence of the king tides was clear; sand soaked the beach grass higher than I've seen before, and driftwood was threatening a number of beachfront homes. Noticed a broken up dock washed ashore. Mostly sunny day, temp just below 50, light breeze. Did notice surfers north of my mile. Average number of beach walkers given the conditions.
Conditions
Temperature: 48 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: N. Tide Level: 1.0 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 20. Number of dogs: 7. Walking or running: 20. Mainly observed people strolling on the beach. Dogs off-leash a frequent concern; one came running up to me and barked.
Vehicles
Driftline Content
Land-based debris (picnics, etc.). There appeared to be pieces of a broken up dock washed ashore.

This time I concentrated on the area south of Henderson Creek where there is more activity. Photo submitted, & will be the last one. Beach was quite clean and probably because of the beach clean-up activities the previous Saturday.
