This was a spectacular cold, crisp, breezy, and dramatically sunlit day with clouds and fog passing through; one day after our first big winter storm.High tide, big crashing surf; surprisingly little debrisfrom the storm. The 804 trail was washed clean, with a few new rivulets and puddles.I haven't been out on mile 195 since the HUGE storm last Sunday; will file an update when I do go if there's anything significantly different!

This is my first walk and report since losing my canine companion, Westly, over a year ago. The only important observation in this report is tire tracks from illegal driving on the beach.

Walking north oh Wayside Lodge I saw 15 or so dead Black Turnstone. That was the only species of bird that was dead. Lots of plastic bottles that I picked up.
