Walking mile 195 has resumed, now that steps from the 804 trail to the beach, in the middle of the mile, are back up.

Walking mile 195 has resumed, now that steps from the 804 trail to the beach, in the middle of the mile, are back up. I visited with my dog Westly on a sunny, brisk day with fewer visitors than usual for the nice weather. The beach was mostly clean of natural and human debris. It was a very pleasant walk.

Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: N. Tide Level: 4.0 feet.

Notable Wildlife
A sea lion was heard and seen in the surf.

Natural Changes
Newly exposed roots/trees falling. There were vertically exposed tree trunks and limbs on the beach - not seen here before.

This is my first walk and report since losing my canine companion, Westly, over a year ago. The only important observation in this report is tire tracks from illegal driving on the beach.

Walking north oh Wayside Lodge I saw 15 or so dead Black Turnstone. That was the only species of bird that was dead. Lots of plastic bottles that I picked up.
