Mile 195 Report
South San Marine Beach, Starr Creek
May 19, 2019
It was a lovely, calm day for a beach walk.
Report Details
It was a lovely, calm day for a beach walk. The beach was as clean as I have ever seen it. The only marine life present included a few broken shells and beach hoppers. There was no human debris, as though SOLVE had just been through. One change noted was an artistic carving on the face of a cliff at the north end of the mile (see photo). It is not likely to last through the next few high tides.

A large sculpture has been carved into a cliff face at the north end of mile 195. This does not seem to be a violation.

This is my first walk and report since losing my canine companion, Westly, over a year ago. The only important observation in this report is tire tracks from illegal driving on the beach.

Walking north oh Wayside Lodge I saw 15 or so dead Black Turnstone. That was the only species of bird that was dead. Lots of plastic bottles that I picked up.

I was just curious if a person who is knowledgeable about geology could explain what I'm seeing in the cliff here?
