Report Details

A lovely day.  Spring mating season so a lot of the species were paired off.  Someone has built a large tent shape enclosure out of big pieces of driftwood near the parking lot.  Except for the first section of Stonefield Beach, the other sections were all cobbles and rocks.  Good for rock hunters but hard for walkers.  Few people go past the sand.  A Bald Eagle flew over us in the parking lot.  Two new birds, 2 Rufus Hummingbirds near the parking lot, and Tree Swallows near the bluffs.

The day was very foggy so we didn't expect to see many birds but were very surprised to see 18 species, which has only happened two other times since 2003.
