A lovely, mainly sunny day without wind. Very few people on the beach, mostly in the first areas. The sand was very high, covering the tide pools and rocks. Without any big storms the summer sand is still there, more than in August. The seals were jumping out of the water as they moved along the ocean. Also playing in the waves. The beach was very clean and not much in the driftlines. A rare day at the coast.

Notable Wildlife
2 oystercatchers, 1 great blue heron, 121 surf scoters out in the water along the mile, 4 harlequin ducks, 4 surfbirds, 34 pelagic cormorants, 4 Brandt's cormorants, 1 double crested cormorants, 3 ring billed gulls, 21 brown pelicans flying by, crows and gulls. Several harbor seals out swimming in the waves. 16 on the rocks sunning.
Driftline Content
There was a dead seal on the rocks near the bluff, only the very thick skin and flippers and a couple bones left.

When we arrived in the parking lot it was almost full but people seemed to be leaving.

It was a lovely day but the sand is gone from all but the first part of the beach so the rest is cobbles, making it hard to walk.

The day was very foggy so we didn't expect to see many birds but were very surprised to see 18 species, which has only happened two other times since 2003.

A sunny, very windy day that brought out a lot of people to enjoy the beach, mostly staying in the first sandy area.

It was a beautiful clear day and the wind only started up about 3 in the afternoon.

Florence had some rain but when we got to the mile it was just overcast and kept getting brighter.
