Report Details

Surprisingly busy for a Monday that was windy and overcast. The small parking lot was full and several of the people had walked there from nearby. The beach is all large cobbles this time of year making it hard to walk on. With binoculars we found 34 sea stars on the far rocks at low tide, three which were purple. There were 11 Harbor Seals on the rocks at the end of Stonefield Beach. The walk in from the parking lot to the beach was strewn with logs and woody debris from storms.

The day was very foggy so we didn't expect to see many birds but were very surprised to see 18 species, which has only happened two other times since 2003.
