A lot of people and their dogs out enjoying a break in the weather. The walkway in had a lot of logs and debris on it making access harder. Quite a few visitors agate hunting in the winter cobbles. The bluff seemed to have more erosion than usual.

3 Double-crested Cormorants, 9 Pelagic Cormorants, 6 Harlequin Ducks, 3 Red Winged Blackbirds, 3 Oyster Catchers, crows, gulls. 2 Harbor Seals.
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 1. Pelagic Cormorant, no band, freshly eaten.
Driftline Content
Small rocks, Shells, Wood pieces, Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Styrofoam, Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.). Several pieces of rope, one section of very fat rope we hauled off to the garbage. More trash than usual.
Natural Changes
Landslides/major boulder falls, Newly exposed roots/trees falling, Erosion of vegetated foredune, Visible retreat of solid bluff. More bluff erosion than we usually see, several fairly good sized sections.

When we arrived in the parking lot it was almost full but people seemed to be leaving.

It was a lovely day but the sand is gone from all but the first part of the beach so the rest is cobbles, making it hard to walk.

A lovely, mainly sunny day without wind.

The day was very foggy so we didn't expect to see many birds but were very surprised to see 18 species, which has only happened two other times since 2003.

A sunny, very windy day that brought out a lot of people to enjoy the beach, mostly staying in the first sandy area.

It was a beautiful clear day and the wind only started up about 3 in the afternoon.

Florence had some rain but when we got to the mile it was just overcast and kept getting brighter.

A lovely day and the summer sand is still there making it easy to walk.
