It was a windy, snowy day on Ocean Beach but the rock hunters are out!
Report Details
It was a windy, snowy day on Ocean Beach but the rock hunters are out!!! In addition to the rock hunters, there was a huge amount of trash on the beach. Lots of large chunks of styrofoam, two rugs, lots of plastic bottles and lots of pieces of plastic in the debris line. I removed some of the trash. I noted more large kelp on the beach than I have previously observed. There were two places along the bluff that showed evidence of landslide. The rock fields are now present all along the beach and the agate hunters are finding fist sized agates. The surf was rough. That and the higher tide prevented me from getting to the north end of the beach to assess that end. King Tides this weekend!
