Mile 184 - N of Ocean Beach Picnic Area, S of Squaw Creek - August 19, 2021

Report Details

A warm foggy day on Ocean Beach brought out lots of walkers enjoying the day. There are numerous sand dunes on the beach. The caves mid beach are almost completely filled with sand. Most dunes are under 6 feet high. The debris line from mid beach to the north end was filled with a large concentration of jellies of all sizes. Most were less than 3 inches but some were as large as 10 inches across. The water was full of them as well. I also noted several palm kelp in the debris line. I also noted that the stairs leading to the beach are now covered with graffiti. On a positive note, I didn't find any trash on this trip.
