Unusually warm weather today on Ocean Beach. Although most of the rock fields visible just a few weeks ago are gone, there were still quite a few rock hounds on the beach. Lots of exposed rocks on both ends of the beach made for some great tide pooling. Huge amount of plastics and fishing line in the drift line at both ends of the beach. I collected bottles and large pieces of plastic and removed them from the beach. I saw lots of unidentified squishy ball like clumps on all parts of the beach. I also saw a rock crab (deceased) on the north end. Most of the driftwood is now concentrated on the north end of the beach by the cave. Several sea stars were visible from the beach.

Driftline Content

Small rocks, Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Styrofoam, Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.). Drift lines at the south end and the north end of the beach are full of plastics and bits of fishing line.

Landslides/major boulder falls.
