Activity Comments:
Counted 10 people (out of total 44) that were on the beach north of Winchuck River mouth, a section of this mile that I did not walk but only observed from the south side of the river mouth. A couple of the surf fishermen were on the north section. Observed one dog poo bag closer to south end of the beach, mid-slope. Otherwise no trash. Several driftwood structures observed north and south of river mouth.

Ten Brown pelican flying, cormorants roosting on offshore rocks, one osprey heard, a few gulls observed.

Large size wood concentrated at river mouth and sparsely scattered along upper beach slope. Narrow intermittent wracklines.
New Development:
Modifications:
Natural Changes:
Winchuck River mouth emptying about 300ft southward along outer beach slope in a narrow channel creating a short sand spit between ocean and channel and a sharp sand cutbank above the channel on land side. Winchuck River is still covering south shore of river at the mouth preventing walking from riverside beach near highway bridge to oceanside.
Comments:
Summary:

Beach looks super clean; no litter except for one dog poo bag. People activity concentrated nearer to Vistor Center on south side of river and closer to mouth of river on north side. Activities: surf fishing, family gatherings, walkers; everyone behaving nicely and happy even in the fog (warm with no wind). Observed vehicle tracks in soft sand mid slope. I walked past park boundary south to rental cabins at south end of beach where there were several more people, some with a beach fire and some playing in the ocean. I was on the beach 1.5 hours.
