Quiet day on the beach for the middle of spring vacation.

Quiet day on the beach for the middle of spring vacation. There is a lot of wood on the beach and some has been cut and hauled away presumably for firewood. One bonfire was still smoldering.
Conditions
Temperature: 42 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: N. Tide Level: 6.8 feet.

Number of people: 45. Number of dogs: 9. Walking or running: 29. Playing in surf: 5. Playing in sand: 6. Other Activities: 5 feeding seagulls. There is a lot of wood on the beach and some has been cut and hauled away presumably for firewood. One bonfire was still smoldering. The Beach Clean-up is on Saturday. There's not much to pick up, but there is some litter from bonfires and boats.

LOTS of wood on the beach and riprap . . . all sizes, lengths, and types. No evidence that damaged riprap has been repaired (between NW 5th and NW 7th).

I submitted a report recently on a beach 245 miles to the South, mile 49, the Port beach in Port Orford, where I noticed many jellyfish washed up.

I observed new signs in Rockaway city proper, restricting using the public access to the beach at 1st and 2nd Avenues. Sign reads NO ACCESS: Until further notice, all city owned paths, walkways, stairs, and any other improved or unimproved access ways to recreation areas are closed.

Overall the beach looked pretty good for post king tides and fireworks.
