For the day after a holiday weekend the beach was exceptionally clean.

For the day after a holiday weekend the beach was exceptionally clean. One small bucket of trash that included spent fireworks, kid sand toys, a shoe, net metal stakes, and some picnic trash. only item of note is the new signs at the base of the rip rap indicating private property and surveillance video cameras. They are installed on the beach.

Temperature: 70 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: NW. Tide Level: 5.7 feet.

Number of people: 10. Number of dogs: 2. Walking or running: 10.
Other Activities: Very quiet after the holiday weekend..

Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 4. 3 murres and 1 seagull.
Wrackline Content
Seaweeds and seagrass, Wood pieces, Marine debris, Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.). Fireworks remnants. Water bottles. Bottle caps. Rope fragments. Sand toys (bucket and utensils). Small alcohol bottle. Tent or net metal stakes. Burned red solo cup. One child’s shoe.

I love to see tourist families come down and enjoy the beach, but some use the beach as a party house and just leave a mess behind.

Surprised by huge quantity of kelp and lots of fishing industry garbage.

I submitted a report recently on a beach 245 miles to the South, mile 49, the Port beach in Port Orford, where I noticed many jellyfish washed up.
