Based on the small amount of garbage picked up on my "litter patrol", one would be surprised to know that it was just a week ago that Rockaway Beach hosted it's annual kite festival during Memorial Day weekend.
Report Details
Based on the small amount of garbage picked up on my "litter patrol", one would be surprised to know that it was just a week ago that Rockaway Beach hosted it's annual kite festival during Memorial Day weekend...good job people!! Found several beach toys, a blanket, tissues, a few cans and bottles, and a small container of medical marijuana (bet someone's kite was fly'n "high")...all easily carried off in a kitchen garbage bag. Two items required help. Took a large plastic re-cycling bin (go figure) to the park host at Manhattan Beach to hold until the Park Ranger could pick it up, and advised the location of a 1'x5' very heavy plastic boat dock post (I think) which the Ranger will arrange to be picked up off the beach.
