Report Details

The ocean just keeps on giving...more new sand has been deposited in the last couple of months burying 2'to 3' of the rip rap lower rock. Don't usually see this in Feb. Tree limbs and small logs have been tossed half way up the rocks. A fair amount of mostly "clean" debris has accumulated at the drift line with a sprinkling of styrofoam, rope, plastic and bottles that were easily removed. Found a small discarded Christmas tree that had been freshly decorated with kelp and seagrass...someones idea of recycling? Good to see so many people out enjoying the beach on this mild day. It will be interesting to see how the Rockaway Wayside project unfolds.

I love to see tourist families come down and enjoy the beach, but some use the beach as a party house and just leave a mess behind.
