A lightly travelled beach today with less than 20 people and 5 dogs.
Report Details
A lightly travelled beach today with less than 20 people and 5 dogs. Lots of debris left at the high tide line mostly due to the recent King Tides. Besides the logs, tree branches and other wooden debris, found lots of plastic rope, chunks of styrofoam, and plastic bottles that were obviously at sea for many months or years. Gathered 1 1/2 garbage bags of trash, including a personal best 3 tooth brushes...go figure! Noted some minor sand and vegitation erosion along the bank.

Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Tide Level: 3.5 feet.

I submitted a report recently on a beach 245 miles to the South, mile 49, the Port beach in Port Orford, where I noticed many jellyfish washed up.

I observed new signs in Rockaway city proper, restricting using the public access to the beach at 1st and 2nd Avenues. Sign reads NO ACCESS: Until further notice, all city owned paths, walkways, stairs, and any other improved or unimproved access ways to recreation areas are closed.
