Report Details

We watched a coyote go onto the beach between NW 12th and NW 13th (the mile north of mine but our house is in this mile) and exit the beach between NW 11th and NW 10th. It was a medium size coyote and carried a dead raccoon in its mouth. There are houses all around our area . . . any other coyote sightings in Rockaway Beach? Also, we have been watching an area between NW 8th and NW 9th which is lower than any spot I've seen on Rockaway Beach. I have also never seen such a concentration of rock on the beach and men with metal detectors have spent considerable time scouring the area. It's almost like we have our own tide pools and the dogs and kids love the "pond" created when the tide comes in.

I love to see tourist families come down and enjoy the beach, but some use the beach as a party house and just leave a mess behind.
