We found the beach to look very normal for this time of year despite the strong storm that occurred a week earlier.
We found the beach to look very normal for this time of year despite the strong storm that occurred a week earlier. There is nothing unusual to report.
Temperature: 40 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: SW. Tide Level: 5.0 feet.
Number of people: 1. Walking or running: 1. Lots of vehicle tracks on the beach
Apparent violations: vehicle tracks on foredune.
Cars/trucks parking: 1.
One flock of gulls and one of shorebirds
Total dead birds: 1. common murre
very little in driftline

The beach looked pretty normal despite a strong storm just 1 week earlier.
All Mile 259 Reports
We were not able to walk the entire mile, but we could see down the beach.
This was the first trip for JGEMS for this beach with Jesse Jones from Coastwatch and Patricia McBride from the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
It was a pleasant, sunny day with well-separated groups of people--including young children--just relaxing on the beach.
From my perspective on horseback, the beach looked in great shape and was being used by visitors just like a beach should be on a nice summer day.
