Seaward side of dune appears to have eroded so it is much steeper and difficult to reach beach from public access site. There was the normal collection of plastic water bottles on beach and some glass bottles including one with traditional Chinese script label. Some fishing gear with a major concentration of plastic floats of various sizes at 45 7.818 N, 123 58.679W. Large deposits of Velella velella with strong odor in places. Beautiful day, but only saw one other person on beach walking dogs.

Notable Wildlife
Gulls feeding off shore en mass.
Dead Fish or Invertebrates
Unusual concentration. lots of decomposing Velella velella on sand, strong odor in places.

Small rocks, Wood pieces, Styrofoam, Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.).
Natural Changes
Erosion of vegetated foredune.

Severe dune erosion causing many large shrubs and trees to fall onto the beach. Previous report in February showed dune cliff stable but receding.

Apparent crab exuvia - lots of Dungeness crab shells along the high-tide line and in the shallow mini-lagoons formed at low tide.
