Report Details
Not much change since the last report except waves & tides have removed sand and exposed some rocks not visible during the summer. Also, more large driftwood trees and logs along the cliffs than last time due to the storms a couple weeks ago and the high tides that now reach to the cliffs in some places.Lots of tube worm casings & mole crab, dead and alive, in the driftline.I removed several pieces of marine rope and netting and small pieces of plastic but only a couple pieces of picnic trash. There were 2 pieces of marine rope that I was unable to remove because one was large and tangled with a tree and another was partially buried and I could not pull it up. Also, found some sort of cabling that was partially buried that I was unable to remove. I also found a large tire but it was on mile 222. See photos.

Gorgeous, quiet winter afternoon alongside dozens of sea pickles, a moderate rockslide at south end, disconcerting complete absence of birds, and sadly typical two armfuls of marine debris.

I walk this beach most days and it's been unremarkable besides the typical gulls, cyclical ocean deposits, and sporadic walkers.

1) Of historical note is the fallen arch at Schooner Pt November 2022 2) Absent this year thus far are any whale spouts visible from shore. 3) The Moolack Beach access trail from the parking area is heavily overgrown with bushes.

There was nothing startling or unusual about this beachwalk except that we noted significant destruction of a staircase and its foundation below the large vacation rentals just south of Moolack Beach.
