Possible Sea Star Wasting disease observed in sea star across tidepool with binoculars and photo. Enlarge left section of dark area above pool. Note small light circle. Sea star with backwards drooping arms is to the right of the light spot. No other sea stars observed in this area. Resembles SSWD seen in 2014-2015. Pool deep so couldn't get closer. Pool is in formation due west of 68th St access and about 100 meters south.
Conditions
Temperature: 59 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Tide Level: -1.4 feet.

There's a new deceased sea lion, about 1/4 of mile south from the 68th St access point, not too far from another now-decayed one that washed up about three weeks ago.

Four large debris items washed up: pallet at south end of beach, and a long wood slab, approx 6 foot long black plastic piece, and waterlogged foam around halfway of mile 220.

A sad day for Mile 220, although the weather was amazing it was super hard and sad to see the tar globs in the mid-section of my mile.
