Schooner South's cliffs/bluffs continue to erode.
Report Details
Schooner South's cliffs/bluffs continue to erode. Not much trash but did clean up what was present. Lots of live birds along with 11 dead birds (mostly common murres). 17 cigarette butts around the parking area (removed).

Temperature: 55 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 0.5 feet.

Notable Wildlife
8 Turkey vulture, 24 California brown pelicans, 8 shorebirds with long downward sloping bills (Whimbrels??)
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 11. At least 7 common murres, others unidentifiable without picking up.

Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt).
Natural Changes
Landslides/major boulder falls, Major cracks appearing in bluffs, Visible retreat of solid bluff.

Continued changes on 220 due to the rains, high tides and normal loss of sand in winter.
