Report Details

It was a quiet trip to the beach--being early at 6-7 AM.Mostly clear, with a slight marine layer which was already burning off by 7AM.I am concerned about the picnic table--will it be removed before winter storms or will it become flotsom.

Conditions

Temperature: 55 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: -0.5 feet.

Human Activities

Although there was no one on the beach--it looked like an RV had camped overnight at NW 68th.

Vehicles

RVs/Buses parking: 1.

Notable Wildlife

Lots of birds along the shore--and especially along Yaquina cliffs.

Driftline Content

Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Land-based debris (picnics, etc.). The driftline has more seagrasses--with the resultant "hoppers" There were Dungeness castings had neat edges--as they shift out of old carapace. There was land-based debris - not a picnic, but a picnic table. Unless removed it will be swept out to ocean.

Natural Changes

Newly exposed roots/trees falling. There is more trees toppling at the equivalent of 58th street.
