Arrival of ocean seabirds which nest on the rocks at this site is significant; usually seals are evident along with pups; this is a popular site for tidal pools.

Arrival of ocean seabirds which nest on the rocks at this site is significant; usually seals are evident along with pups; this is a popular site for tidal pools. Usually sighted are eagles and Black oystercatchers, missing this visit. Casual observation did not find evidence of immature sea star recruitment, there were 5-10 large sea stars, all healthy.

Temperature: 56 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Moderate. Wind Direction: NW. Tide Level: -1.2 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 30. All visitors were engaged with tidepool observation.

Notable Wildlife
Sea birds--common murres and cormorants-- were in the water, arrived about 7-10 days ago; seals not evident. Previous warm temps might effect this observation.

It was a chilly, cloudy/foggy Monday morning so there were only a handful of visitors in the park, none of whom were on the beach.
