Mile 219 - North end of Agate Beach, Yaquina Head south - November 19, 2022

It was a brilliantly sunny day although the stiff east wind was very chilly. Nothing unusual to report apart from the dead owl on the beach. The driftline was less dense than one would expect (less, wood and kelp and ocean-based debris) possibly because there havent been any storms for a week or so.

Temperature: 47 F. Wind Velocity: Strong. Wind Direction: E. Tide Level: 6.5 feet.

Number of people: 16. Number of dogs: 1. Walking or running: 16. Few people on the beach this morning and no violations/disturbances

Total dead birds: 1. I found a deal owl and could not confidently identify the exact species, although my best guess is that it was a western screech owl

Small rocks, Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces, Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.). A few pieces of ocean-based debris - a bit less than usual possibly because this week there have been no storms and instead offshore winds with relatively small swell.
