We have to schedule our ENHS Project six or more weeks in advance, we almost cancelled due to the weather. It really was not as bad as we feared, but it rained constantly. There was no cobble beach at Ten Mile Creek access, water right up to the cobble bank and driftwood. Did not seem or wasn't more eroded than last year. Access barely, through a hedge path to the homes was possible but we didn’t want to trespass. Not knowing how long we could stand on the beach we went to Stonefield which was sandier than last spring. Debris and garbage present, diapers, bottles, but mostly bits of rope and tiny plastic chips. The surf was enormous but it was low tide so that was not a problem. The gulls were foraging at the tide line, not flying about, no dead birds.The mighty surf was hiding against the cliff. Sea Pack’s sand beach wad smaller than 2015.No photos too wet for cameras!!

Disturbances: Shorebirds moving in response to humans/dogs

Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea).

Natural Changes

Much of what was cobble beach a year ago is covered by water, a swollen Ten Mile Creek.
