Mile 186 - Tenmile Cr, Searose Beach N of Stonefield Beach Wayside - February 22, 2010

A beautiful day and the beach was very clean.In the years we have visited mile 186 we have never seen so few birds or so much sand swept out. Some places on the beach were so low that the water formed ponds in the underlying foundation. Rocks covered the upper half of the beach.Two places on the bluff have been altered, steps were cut into the bluff, wood put into place to allow access.The RV park is placing permanent-type housing in the lot.

Number of people: 6. Number of dogs: 2. Walking or running: 5. Other Activities: looking for agates. Vehicles could not park in the Ten Mile Creek lot due to the driftwood and rocks that had been deposited in the parking area

Notable Wildlife

We only saw 2 birds on the mile.

Bluff development, Steps down bluff.

Actions & Comments

Two areas of the bluff have been modified. Very primitive work was done to put steps into the bluff, apparently to allow the landowner to access the beach.
