Report Details

One landslide noted on the north end of the mile. There were some horizontal patches on the beach closest to rocks that had a greyish appearance of dirt, but did not feel like dirt. It was on the rocks. This beach had a sign posted that it had received tar balls, not sure if these patches are related to the tar balls or not. Collected garbage, mostly small pieces of plastic, but also styrofoam, metal pieces, bottle caps,glass, and rubber pipe. There were 2 wood pallets and a large piece of rubber pipe that we were weren't able to remove from the beach this time.

Apparent violations: none.

Notable Wildlife

Saw a flock of seagulls, 3 black birds (crows?), and 1 Robin.

Beached Birds

Total dead birds: 3. Three dead birds on the beach, very decomposed, unable to identify the type of bird. No leg bands seen.

Driftline Content

Not much of a wrack line this time, mostly small rocks and pieces of broken shells.

Man-made Modifications

Small fort made from the driftwood on the beach.

Natural Changes

Landslides/major boulder falls. North end of Mile 184, a landslide approximately 50 feet wide not extending too far out onto the beach. There are some boulders and dirt at the base of the landslide.
